Meet our team

Ronald Monson

innovator/Educator/Writer
Ronald Monson is the founder of onSoc and has been teaching/researching inference for over fifteen years. He finished a PhD in Computer-aided learning at UWA in 2004 before spending 15 years as a Math's lecturer at VU and Learning Consultant at ECU. He is a former Visiting Scholar at Wolfram Research and certified Mathematica Trainer. He is fascinated by the interplay between language, computation and inference and enabling others to harness these connections.

Paul Abbott

Sage/ physicist/Educator
Paul Abbott is an Adjunct Professor of Physics at UWA. After completing his PhD in 1987, he worked for Wolfram Research Inc and is presently a Program Director at the Wolfram Summer School. He was the founding technical editor of The Mathematica Journal and uses Mathematica in his research—on wavelets, atomic physics, and special functions—and in his teaching. In 2015-2016 he won a Wolfram Innovator Award, a UWA Award for Excellence in Teaching and an Australian University Teaching Award.
